You can change the fill attributes of the Rectangle, Ellipse, and Polygon drawing tools so that the next object of these types that you draw will have the new fill attributes. You can draw objects with solid, gradient, or pattern fills.
The current fill color appears in the fill color well in the Toolbox. Use the Toolbox to change a drawing tool's fill.
The paint bucket indicates the fill color well in the Toolbox.
You can also change the fill color for a drawing tool in the Fill panel. You can choose from a variety of gradient and pattern fills. Further, you can change the fill characteristics of an object after you draw it. For information, see Editing fills.
To change the fill color of the basic shape tools:
1 | From the fill color well in the Toolbox, click the down arrow next to the color well to open the color well pop-up menu. |
2 | Choose a color for the fill from the set of swatches. |
3 | Choose the Rectangle, Ellipse, or Polygon tool. |
4 | Hold down the mouse button and drag to draw the object. |

Note: Each object you draw using the Brush, Pencil, or Pen tool appears with no fill. You must add the fill after you draw the object.
